4th Annual Equality Wine & Food Fest

The 4th Annual Equality Wine & Food Fest, held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Hyatt Palm Springs atrium, was a highly successful, high-energy event that brought together over 700 passionate wine enthusiasts, vendors, vintners, and local leaders.

Recognized by Wine Enthusiast as one of the best LGBTQ+ food, wine, and spirits festivals in the country, this year’s event was also a key part of Palm Springs’ inaugural XOXO Arts & Culture Celebration.

Event Highlights & Recap:

A Mission Beyond Tasting: Founded and produced by Michael and Ernie Westman, the festival champions inclusion by highlighting LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and women-owned/operated wineries, distilleries, and businesses. The goal was to ensure “every glass poured had a deeper meaning” by fostering visibility and giving back to the community.

The Main Event (Grand Tasting): Attendees had the opportunity to sample over 100 exceptional wines and spirits, featuring labels from prestigious regions like Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and Amador County (such as MacRostie Winery, Markham Vineyards, and Jordan Winery). Guests interacted directly with winemakers, retailers, and local artisans.

Entertainment & Atmosphere: The Hyatt’s atrium was alive with energy, featuring DJ DISCOBOY. The event  featured an official after-party at the nearby Canopy Wine Lounge.

Charitable Impact: The festival featured a massive silent auction packed with trips, local experiences, and rare wine bottles. Proceeds from the event directly benefited vital forward-thinking organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, and Brothers of the Desert.

Diverse Vendors & Retailers: Beyond wineries, the floor featured unique local operations, including Perry’s Fine Wines & Liquors, the Palm Springs Surf Club, and the Social Cafe & Lounge, alongside a variety of pop-up lifestyle retailers and artists.

The festival solidified its spot as one of Palm Springs’ premier summer cultural traditions, blending excellent hospitality with a powerful spirit of community pride.
